Former Real Madrid striker, Karim Benzema broke the internet after he joined Saudi Arabia team, Al Ittihad with a salary reported to be around €200m for a two year contract.

Saudi Arabia are looking to lure lots of football best players to their Pro League and it involves heavy financial backings.

It is impossible to curb the rate at which Saudi Arabia teams sign players as the country league is not affected by the UEFA Financial Fair Play rule.

Just as Ronaldo earns a whopping €200m a year, Benzema was reported to be earning €100m a year, summing up to €200m in the two years of his contract.

However, AllSoccer can confirm that Benzema won’t earn up to the speculated amount flying around.

What is Benzema salary at Al Ittihad?

Prior to the salary amount that went viral, Benzema will earn €27 million at Al Ittihad, excluding sponsorships and image rights. This is €3 million above the €24 million he earned at Real Madrid.

Chelsea midfielder, N’golo Kante also joined Karim Benzema at Al Ittihad.
