AFCON: Serge Aurier steps in as goalkeepers as Ivory Coast goalkeeper suffers injury

Former Tottenham right back, Serge Aurier stepped in as a goalkeeper as Ivory Coast goalkeeper, Ali Sangare suffered an injury that saw him stretched out.

Ivory Coast were leading 2 – 1 and conceded an equalizer in the 93rd minute as they faced Sierra Leone. Sierra Leone’s Alhaji Kamara scored the controversial equalizer which resulted to Ali Sangare’s injury.

With Ivory Coast substitution already completed, Serge Aurier had to step in as a goalkeeper, wearing Ali Sangare’s jersey and glove for the last minutes of the match.

The match ended in the 2 – 2 draw and Aurier didn’t have to face any shot in his short time in the post.

Ivory Coast has four points from 2 matches and Sierra Leone boost of two points from 2 matches, both draws against Algeria and Cote D’Ivoire.
