Freddie Ljunberg looks uneasy as Arsene Wenger compares Odegaard to Dennis Bergkamp.

The two Arsenal legends were speaking on a live podcast and were juxtaposing the current team with the Invincibles team.

They agreed on the parallels being drawn between Martinelli and Saka with Pires and Ljunberg respectively.

The pair also agreed that Gabriel Jesus has the quality, but is not always available to consistently deliver for Arsenal like Henry did.

When it got to the subject of Odegaard, Arsene Wenger praised the Arsenal skipper, comparing him to Bergkamp. The look of seriousness on Ljungberg’s face when talking to his gaffer changed to one of concern.

When Wenger spoke further and compared him to Fabregas, he willingly agreed to the comparison. This suggested that he didn’t fully agree to the comparison between Odegaard and Bergkamp.

Arsene Wenger’s comments echoes the sentiments of another Arsenal legend David Seaman. Seaman compared Odegaard to Bergkamp in an exclusive interview with Livescore. He said:

“And on the pitch, he’s (Odegaard) really improved. People weren’t too sure about him to start with but now they’re seeing him play week in, week out and they’re seeing some quality play.

“That’s what he is. He’s like a quiet player but he’s quality. He reminds me quite a lot of Dennis Bergkamp.

“He’s quite shy and quiet but he just gets on with his game and just produces all the time.”

Odegaard lighting it up in the Premier League

The Norwegian has been one of Arsenal’s best players since he signed fully for the club. He is also part of what has been one of the best midfields in the premier league this season.

The way he moves, creates chances and scores goals have earned him so much praise and recognition.

He has already scored 9 goals and set up 7 others in all competitions this season, picking up from where he left off in the last.
