Clueless Manchester City plays Southampton without a shot on target
Manchester City have been faced with their biggest shock in recent days after they played Southampton without delivering any shot on target.
The citizens had a great team selected by tactical manager, Pep Guardiola, with Raheem Sterling returning to the starting lineup after falling off as first choice player at the club and his captaincy stripped off him. Other players like newly signed Jack Grealish was also in the starting lineup who were expected to comfortably score goals past their opponents goalie.
The match took a different turn as Machester City players were unable to direct any shot towards Southampton’s shot stopper, Alex McCarthy all through the match. Though they delivered an entertaining play, they were not good enough to create a play that gives them a chance at goal.
Southampton managed to engage Man City’s Ederson with two shots directed towards him but failed to get any past the Brazilian.
This becomes Pep Guardiola’s first game for the club without having a shot on goal. The team will hope to bounce back from their weekend shocker in the midweek games.
