“Cristiano Ronaldo will not impact the Premier League as he previously did” – Steven Gerrard

Former England international and Liverpool skipper, Steven Gerrard has said resigned Manchester United star, Cristiano Ronaldo will not have an impact in the Premier League has he did previously when he played in the league.

Cristiano Ronaldo made a return to the Red Devils after most members of the Juventus board lost the believe they had in him. Despite coming out as top scorer in the Serie A last season, Juventus were still unsure the 5 times Balon d’or has what it takes to lead the team to the top.

Newly returned manager, Masmilliano Allegri in a recent interview said his team won’t miss Ronaldo or his goals, as player like Paulo Dybala, McKeinnie, Moise Keane and even the defenders in the team will score goals.

Steven Gerrard inturn has said Ronaldo only forced his move back to the Premier League just to get the media headline back on him as it as shown on his rival Lionel Messi from when he lifted the Copa America and his transfer to Paris Saint German. Gerrard tipped that the strategy was direct from Ronaldo and his agent so he won’t be forgotten in the ongoing Balon d’or race.

“I think Cristiano Ronaldo will not make the same impact to the Premier league as he did in the past. I think he wanted to move away from Juventus to get the media headlines back to him. This is because all the eyes were on Messi since the day he won Copa America and moving to Paris Saint-Germain, it’s just a marketing strategy from him and his agent because they know once he is off the picture, it will also affect his Ballon d’Or chances, in which I think he still doesn’t have a chance to win it this year.”

Ronaldo is currently with the Portugal team as they prepare for their world cup qualifiers matches coming up. He will make his return debut as a Manchester United player after the International break.
