Ex Liverpool player, Georginio Wijnaldum named Ligue 1 flop of the season

Former Liverpool player, Georginio Wijnaldum has been named Ligue 1 flop of the year after his famous move to PSG.

The Netherlands international midfielder went from being a top player under Jurgen Klopp to being an unused substitute under Mauricio Pochettino in France.

Unbelievably, Wijnaldum topped a poll of over 100,000 fans votes on who Ligue 1 biggest failure is.

The ex-Newcastle hero never played a full match for PSG in more than two months at the end of the season.

His inconsistency led to former Manchester United manager Louis van Gaal axing him from the Holland squad.

The 31-year-old is worried about securing a spot in Netherland squad that would be at the world cup.

Wijnaldum never featured for 90 minutes despite been hyped about the French club and choosing them ahead of Barcelona who also had keen interest on him.

His future in France is already in doubt despite signing just last summer and still has 2 years left in his contract.

The damning poll on Ligue 1’s top flops was held by Get French Football News, assisted by the views of the website’s experts.

Mauricio Pochettino is currently on his way out of PSG, and the French giants are currently in search of a perfect replacement.
