How Pep Guardiola convinced Bernardo Silva to stay at City

In form Manchester City midfielder, Bernardo Silva was at the edge of leaving the Citizens last summer transfer window, but only have a second thought of staying when Pep Guardiola approached him.

The Portuguese have had some good season with City since he arrived from Monaco, being a regular and would say Manager’s favorite.

With his quick foot and slippery body, Silva only issues where with goals and assists, making his statistics look relatively poor. With issues enveloping from poor stats loosing playing time, Bernardo Silva began to eye a move out of Manchester, with Atletico being the frontrunner for the maestro signature.

Atletico Madrid were unable to get the Portuguese to put pen into contract paper due to poor negotiations. The Spanish giant made an offer around €40 to €45, while Manchester City valued their player at €70, making the transfer not to fall through.

Late into the transfer window, Pep Guardiola stepped in and talked Silva into remaining with the Manchester club, convincing him to stay and unveil his full potentials, which later turned out positive.

Bernardo Silva is having his best season yet with Manchester City, beating his personal best at the club in the first half of this season. Bernardo Silva has scored a record 7 goals for Manchester City, beating his record of 6 goals in a full campaign.
