Former Manchester City star, Mario Balotelli has revealed he would have had chances of winning the Balon d’OR if he remained at Manchester City.
Balotelli had an awesome three years at City before falling out with manager Roberto Mancini, prompting him to leave the club in 2013.
Reminiscing on his time at Manchester City, Balotelli revealed he would have had same legendary status as Sergio Aguero if he had the mindset he has now when he was at City.
“I shouldn’t have left Manchester City at that time. All these years of watching City improve over and over again. I could have been like Agüero. If I had had the mindset I have now when I was at City, I probably would have won a Ballon d’Or.”
After series of controversies in the Premier League, Mario Balotelli left Manchester City to continue his career in Italy with AC Milan where he spent just a single season before returning to the Premier League with Liverpool.
Balotelli currently plays for Turkish team, Adana Demirspor. He was currently recalled to the Italian national team after years of being left out.
