Joelinton signs new deal to end speculation but Isak continues to dominate the headlines

Joelinton has extended his stay at Newcastle after penning a deal that ties his future to the club long term.

The forward-turned-midfielder joined Newcastle from Hoffenheim in 2019 as a fresh-faced 21 year old. He has amassed a total of 179 appearances for the Magpies, netting 25 times.

Despite joining as a forward five years ago, it is in Midfield that Joelinton has truly shown his worth for Newcastle. His combativeness and dynamism proved vital to Newcastle’s surprise run to champion’s league places last season.

“I’d like to thank everyone involved behind the scenes for bringing this to a swift and positive conclusion. We are all excited to see Joelinton in a Newcastle shirt for many years to come.”

Joelinton also reacted to the deal in enthusiastic fashion, expressing his happiness to be continuing at the club. He said:

“I feel great. I feel very happy and my family is happy. A lot of things have happened in my years here. I’ve learnt a lot and grown a lot, and for me to come here to Newcastle was the best decision of my career.

“I love playing for the club. I love the club, I love the fans. We had a lot of discussions and I always wanted to be here. I’m glad to continue and I hope to have success in the years to come.”

Isak continues to dominate the headlines

Joelinton has extended his stay at Newcastle but Isak rumors persist as Arsenal are warned off a move.

The striker is currently valued at £100 million like many of the other decent strike targets. Arsenal legend, Emmanuel Petit,  is against Arsenal funding other premier league teams and has urged the club to move for Nico Williams from Athletic Bilbao.

Meanwhile, Isak recently commented on the possibility of leaving Newcastle in search of champion’s league football.

He said of the role champion’s league football plays on his future:

“Of course I want to be here in the future. I came here for the project, I absolutely love playing here, I really feel at home.
