“I’m trying to create a monster striker with Tammy Abraham” – Jose Mourinho
AS Roma boss, Jose Mourinho has hinted that he is creating a monster striker out of former Chelsea attacker, Tammy Abraham who fell out of favour under Thomas Tuchel.
Jose and Tammy linked up after they both signed for Italian club, AS Roma. “The Special One” as he preferred to be called was instrumental in Roma’s signing of Tammy Abraham from Chelsea in the summer.
Since beginning the season with Roma, Tammy has shown tremendous improvement, scoring twice and assisting twice also. Roma are currently top of the Italian league table.
Mourinho said he’s creating a monster striker for England coach, Gareth Southgate. Continuing with, Southgate doesn’t have a proper eye if he fails to call up Tammy for the England national team. He also advised his player to switch allegiance and play for another national team if he fails to receive a call up from England.
“I am trying to create a monster of a forward for Gareth Southgate. Unless he doesn’t have proper eyes and still opt not to call him up with the England National Team, then I would suggest for Tammy Abraham to switch countries. He deserves more caps under his name.”
Tammy Abraham had earlier opted to represent the Three Lions in his national career, receiving an early call up though was later dropped and has since, failed to wear the Three Lions jersey. With the new FIFA rule, Tammy Abraham can be able to still represent his biological nation, Nigeria.
