The last transfer window might not be the best for five time Ballon d’OR winner, Cristiano Ronaldo as he wasn’t able to secure a transfer move away from Manchester United.

Manchester United failed to qualify for the Champions League, making Ronaldo miss out on the European most prestigious football competition for the first time in his career.

Longing to continue his play and further increase his record in the Champions League, Ronaldo tried to force a move out of Manchester United to a team playing in the Champions League.

Together with his agent, Jorge Mendes, Ronaldo was offered to a couple of clubs around Europe but he was met with an unexpected rejection.

Here are some of the clubs that reject signing Cristiano Ronaldo.

1. Chelsea: Many rumors of Ronaldo being linked to Chelsea flew over the internet. The 2021 Champions League winners didn’t mention or tried to discuss their relationship with Ronaldo, they instead signed Aubameyang from Barcelona on transfer deadline day.

2. Atletico Madrid: Ronaldo was offered to Atletico Madrid by his agent, the club fans were not in good terms with Ronaldo signing for the club. They held a long banner that read “CR7 NOT WELCOMED” and protested the Portuguese should not be signed.

3. Napoli: Cristiano Ronaldo was offered to Napoli towards the deadline of summer transfer window. The director of the Italian club, Giuntoli said all the rumors linking Ronaldo to Napoli were all false and the club doesn’t have plans to sign the goal scorer.

4. Bayern Munich: Bayern Munich praised the prowess of Cristiano Ronaldo but said they wouldn’t want the services of player. Oliver Kahn condemned all the connections linking Ronaldo to the German top club.

Cristiano Ronaldo has settled to play in the UEFA EUROPA League after failing to secure a move to a Champions League club.
