Messi has a first start never to be remembered as PSG draws Club Brugge

Lionel Messi got the start he never expected as his new team, Paris Saint Germain were held to a 1 – 1 draw by Belgian side, Club Brugge.

Messi got his first start for PSG away in Belgium, starting alongside Kylian Mbappe and Neymar. The match started on a good note for the French side as Ander Herrera gave them an early lead, thanks to the assist from Mbappe.

Club Brugge got themselves together and eventually got an equalizer by Hans Vanaken, just after 13 minutes of PSG taking the lead. They continued in their composure and had more chances (both on target and off target) than Paris Saint Germain.

Lionel Messi who scored a hatrick for his nation Argentina in the international break, failed to make enough impact in the match, though he hit the bar once and gave some through balls to his teammates. Club Brugge players tried to mark him closely to avoid him showing his prowess, deservingly they turned out successful.

Kylian Mbappe in the early minutes of the second half picked up an injury and was replaced by Mauro Icardi, who had little or no impact in the game, shooting out balls widely.

Messi will hope to get his first goal for PSG in the coming league match this weekend.
