Police stops angry Sierra Leone fans from destroying the property of Kei Kamara after he missed a penalty against Equatorial Guinea
Police in Freetown Sierra Leone has stopped angry fans from destroying the property of Kei Kamara after the player missed a decisive penalty against Equatorial Guinea.
Sierra Leone faced Equatorial Guinea in their last group stage match at the ongoing African Cup Of Nations tournament.
Loosing by one goal to nil, Sierra Leone won a penalty in the 85th minute and Kei Kamara walked up to take the penalty, unfortunately his effort couldn’t go through the goal line. Sierra Leone lost the match and came third in the group, failing to advance to the next round of the competition.
Angry Sierra Leone fans in the home country got angered and went towards vandalizing Kei Kamara million dollar property in Freetown. Freetown Police were informed about the situation on ground and were quick to evict the hoodlums.
The police remained at the players house till the angry fans began to leave. It’s still in doubt that Kei Kamara would return to his home country after the incident.
Sierra Leone qualified for AFCON for the first time in 20 years and fans had to travel by water to get to Cameroon over lack of resources to help them book a flight.
