De Zerbi spent two years at Brighton after joining in September 2022, following the departure of Graham Potter. He influenced the way the club plays and masterminded top performances against the bigger sides. He also led the club to it’s highest top-flight finish last season, qualifying for Europa league where they exited at the last 16.

Chelsea were immediately linked with a move to hire another manager to replace the departing Mauricio Pochettino.

He admitted to be open to managing a club in the Premier League after the match versus Manchester United on final day.

The Italian has previously been linked with Liverpool prior to the Red’s agreement to hire Arne slot. He also courted brief interest from Bayern Munich and is being eyed to replace Ten Haag if the Dutchman is relieved of his duties.

Reports have confirmed that Chelsea have offered De Zerbi a three year contract with an option of a further year. The contract is due to be signed next week as Chelsea begin early preparations for next summer.

If these reports are true, Chelsea are eyeing their second manager from Brighton after previously poaching Graham Potter.

Potter joined chelsea six games into the season after Tuchel was sacked following a champion’s league loss. He signed as Todd Boehly’s first managerial appointment and was tasked with steadying and rebuilding the club.

His supposed new era lasted 7 months and 31 games before he was relieved of his duties. Now the rebuild is set to continue with another manager formerly associated with the seagulls.
