Tolani admits betting on AC Milan matches, face lengthy ban

Newcastle United midfielder, Sandro Tolani has admitted betting on AC Milan matches when he still played for the club.

Sandro Tolani was sent away from Italy camp during the international break alongside Aston Villa’s Nicolo Zaniolo and Juventus Nicolo Fagioli. According to Daily Mail, more than 40 Italian players are suspected to be involved in the betting scandal.

While the case of betting amongst these players are still being investigated, Sandro Tolani has confirmed betting on AC Milan matches while he was still an AC Milan player.

The Italian had earlier confessed to be addicted to betting and has immediately started a process to help overcome the addiction.

Sandro Tolani will face a lengthy ban as confirmed by Sky Sport with regards to rule of betting in Italy. It is forbidden for sportsmen to wager on their own sports in Italy due to the country’s severe gambling laws. Anyone found guilty of breaking them faces up to three years of worldwide suspension.
