You took me out of the streets – Moise Kean pays tribute to Raiola

Italian striker, Moise Kean has expressed his shock at the death of his agent, Mino Raiola after news broke yesterday that the 54-year-old had passed away. Moise Kean can’t be thankful enough for Raiola after several lucrative deals he has helped him seal in his young football career.

He says, “I still can’t believe, you took me out from the streets and you made me learn so many principles in life… to be honest, it’s not a goodbye for us. Wherever you are, you will always be in my heart. R.I.P. BIG Boss.”

Raiola would be remembered for his impactful life, as he has helped a lot of footballers secure life-changing contracts. He could be a hard nut to crack for many clubs like Manchester United, but he had the love of his clients at heart and he made the best choices for them.

He has masterminded ground-breaking deals like Haaland’s transfer to Borussia Dortmund, De Ligt’s move to Juventus, Lukaku’s move from Everton to Manchester United, Pogba’s move to Manchester United and Mario Balotelli’s move to Inter Milan from Manchester City, to mention but a few.

Raiola also played football at youth level. He was part of HFC Haarlem youth team during his days in law school. He didn’t have a senior football career as he became a youth team manager despite his young age.

He started player representation as part of a sports agency where he had a hand in helping Dutch players secure transfers to the Italian Serie A. Raiola became independent afterwards and his first major deal was the one that saw Pavel Nedved move from Sparta Prague to Lazio.

One of the most successful deals in Raiola’s career was Paul Pogba’s transfer to Manchester United, where the Italian made up to 26.4 million dollars in commission. Maybe he could have raised the bar if he had been alive to seal Erling Haaland’s deal to Manchester City.
