Reo Hatate has committed his future with Celtic by extending his contract with the club by five years.
Japanese international Hatate has had a tough start to life under Rodgers at Parkhead, and a brief absence from the starting lineup happened to coincide with the news that contract talks were taking longer than expected.
The club wanted Hatate to join before the transfer deadline, but a deal couldn’t be struck due to interest from other clubs in his services.
Teammates Callum McGregor, Kyogo, Daizen Maeda, and Liel Abada all signed long-term deals in the early days of Rodgers’ second tenure.
Rodgers previously admitted there had been “a little while” of unrest, which sparked worries that he may soon lose leave the club. However, Hatate has now committed his future with club.
