Liverpool join race to sign Ousmane Dembele
According to reports, Liverpool have made an offer for Barcelona star Ousmane Dembele, who will replace departing Sadio Mane this summer.
According to the Sport the Reds have made an offer to sign Dembele, who is free to leave the La Liga giants after failing to agree on a new contract. With Sadio Mane expected to leave Liverpool this summer, the Frenchman has emerged as a target.
The report added that Liverpool has reportedly moved to put together an offer for Dembele in order to tempt him to the Premier League.
The Reds are said to have made contact with Dembele’s agents to submit their offer, in an attempt to beat Chelsea and PSG to his signature.
When Barcelona paid a large sum of money to bring Dembele to Spain from Dortmund, he was considered one of Europe’s top young players. Despite his undoubted skill, Dembele has failed to impress at the Camp Nou due to a combination of injuries and poor form.
Certainly, there is talent. Indeed, Laporta, Barca’s president, once stated that Dembele is “better than Mbappe.” A massive claim that the Barca player has yet to respond to.
Dembele’s contract at Barcelona is expected to in the summer and that means Liverpool can acquire him as a free agent.
