Unsourced news from a website called Soccer On Sunday claimed Chelsea’s new ownership under, Todd Boehly is planning on renaming the Fulham-based club.
Chelsea American owner, Todd Boehly in recent times has made suggestions that he feels would help improve the Premier League. His suggestions have so far left him in a place of mockery as he’s said not to understand how the EPL works.
Claims of London Cowboys
A joke interview claimed to be done by Todd Boehly, by the above-mentioned blog reads below;
“Fans will love the new name. Every time Aubama…Guyana….every time our offense scores a 1-pointer, all the Cowboy fans in the Boehly Bowl will go nuts. That reminds me, the stadium is also being renamed.
“These changes are only the start, Long-term I see the Cowboys franchise relocating to Boston or New York. I’m sure our wonderful fans won’t mind taking a long-haul flight to every home game. Probably we’ll throw in 10% off any pretzel at the Boehly Bowl for those who make the trip.
“Could someone send in Harry Potter, please? I have a hankering to sack someone.”
This made-up interview is pointing at Todd Boehly’s suggestion of the Premier League implementing the United States of America’s MLS pattern of All-star games and a new name for Chelsea.
True or False
All Soccer can confirm, that Chelsea owners have no plan in renaming the London club. There has never been an idea of it aired by anyone about the club.
