Guardiola took a subtle dig at Manchester United when discussing the closeness of the title race with Arsenal.
The Spaniard spoke about the mentality surrounding the neck-to-neck nature of the title chase. He addressed the importance of not losing focus or making any mistakes until the title is won, regardless of who plays first.
Guardiola referenced the two occasions City pipped Liverpool to the title, in a clear warning to Arsenal.
“They know it, we know it, with what happened with Liverpool in the past. We arrived here (at Wolves) and the players knew ‘guys, if we don’t win, Ciao, Ciao, bye-bye, next season we see each other.”

Guardiola then took the liberty of taking a swipe at the noisy neighbors Manchester United and their fortunes this season.
He however hopes Manchester United can do them a favor when they welcome Arsenal to Old Trafford in the penultimate game of the season.
“It’s not complicated. It doesn’t matter if we play before or after. Hopefully we win against Fulham, then Arsenal will play at Old Trafford, where they [Man United] are playing for the Europa League.”
Manchester United will have to decide if they want to hand Arsenal or Manchester United the title. The Red Devils have a past with Arsenal where till date no love is lost despite the recent gap in class between the two.
Their relationship with Manchester City however goes without saying. It must be said, however, that they may have a role to play in deciding where the title ends up.
